Japan premiere event of new movie "Jojo no kimyou na bouken Diamond wa kudakenai Dai Isshou"

The Japan premiere event of new movie "Jojo no kimyou na bouken Diamond wa kudakenai Dai Isshou" was held on 26 July which was attended by the director Miike Takashi and cast members Yamazaki Kento, Kamiki Ryuunosuke, Okada Masaki, Yamada Takayuki, Komatsu Nana, Arata Mackenyu and Iseya Yuusuke. The movie will be shown in cinemas from 4 August.

The movie which was shot on location in Barcelona and Sitges in Spain for a month, is based on the same-titled manga by Araki Hirohiko where Yamazaki plays the lead character Higashikata Jousuke. Kamiki will be playing the character Hirose Kouichi while Komatsu will be playing Yamagishi Yukako. Okada plays the role of Nijimura Keichou and Arata plays Nijimura Okuyasu. As for Yamada and Iseya, they will be playing Katagiri Anjuurou and Kujou Joutarou respectively.

When asked what scene he would like to recommend, Yamazaki cited the part when Yamada's character Anjuurou turns into a rock. In response, Yamada joked that it took him 4 months to prepare for the filming so it took time for him to "get out of his rock state" as well.

With regard to their filming in Spain, Kamiki said that they had a relatively relaxed schedule so they could fit in some sightseeing while filming such as visiting Camp Nou which is the home ground of FC Barcelona. They also had a lot of fun having meat at a restaurant facing the sea and spent a lot of money during their sightseeing time. Iseya also exposed Yamazaki for getting carried away and dancing on the street when he heard some music in a town. Yamazaki commented that his spirits were lifted by the atmosphere and the influence of alcohol thus resulting in what he did but Iseya teased him that this was not true since the beer wasn't even served by then.

Miike then followed up by revealing an incident during the overseas filming and said that the bathrooms in Spain seem to be slippery for some reason. One day, Okada slipped and knocked his head on the edge of the bathtub in the bathroom of the hotel where they stayed at and lost consciousness for at least an hour. When he finally came to, he saw his bathtub being stained red by his blood. Luckily, he did not suffer a major injury and the filming could proceed without any delay. Upon hearing this, the rest of the cast burst into laughter while Okada was seemingly embarrassed by this and said that they shouldn't be talking about this openly.
